JBL Xtreme: Water-resistant Wonder

We have been looking for the perfect outdoor Bluetooth speaker for some time. Something with good battery life, is resistant to water and can carry a baseline. Shortly after the JBL Xtreme was released, we picked this one up and have been enjoying it thoroughly for a little over a year.

Featuring a 10,000mAh battery for up to 15 hours of play time, it also has dual USB ports on it as well for recharging devices like your phone or tablet. “Lifestyle” fabric and materials mean a durable exterior for being tossed around or living in the bottom of a bag, and resisting water if pool or beachside. A high-quality microphone and passive noise cancellation lets you use the speaker as a speakerphone or have full use of Siri or Google voice assistants.

Three tweeters live under the colored tweed cover, available in three different colors, blue black and red, along with two woofers on the exterior to radiate bass. While the speaker might not be able to keep up with Lil Wayne’s super bass heavy “A Milli”, it has enough punch to do just about everything else and has great fidelity through all volume ranges.

The JBL Xtreme is a little pricy at $299 retail, but they can be had cheaper during sales or found used online. It has been providing daily entertainment for us for hours on end every weekend or when we are out wrenching on the truck and we could not be happier with its quality.
