Held annually in Fort Worth, this show brings together some of the biggest names in the knife-making world and opens the doors to the general public. And that’s part of what makes it so special. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Unlike trade-only events where access is limited to industry professionals, Blade Show Texas is a place where anyone can walk in and get a firsthand look at what’s new in the knife world. It’s not just for insiders or professionals; it’s for the entire knife community—from seasoned collectors to first-time attendees who just want to learn more. At the show, you get to see next year’s knife releases and concept designs that haven’t hit the market yet. It’s an incredible opportunity to hold new models in your hand and talk to the people who actually design and make them. I personally had the chance to meet and shake hands with representatives and makers from some of my favorite brands—something I never thought I’d be able to do. Big names like Spyderco, CJRB/Artisan Cutlery, WE Knife, CIVIVI, TOPS Knives, Heretic Knives, Pro-Tech, Big Idea Design, Fox Knives, Kansept, CobraTec, Chaves, and Something Obscene Company were all there. And that’s just scratching the surface. In total, there were over 400 exhibitors showcasing their products—an impressive range that highlighted just how big and diverse the knife world really is. But what really stood out was the community itself. Everyone—from the exhibitors to the fellow attendees—were incredibly welcoming and understanding. Not everyone who walks in knows about steel composition or the latest heat treatment methods, and that’s okay. People were more than happy to explain things, answer questions, and talk shop at any level. Whether you were a first-timer or a longtime knife nerd, you felt included. And it wasn’t just about finished knives. There were makers showcasing raw materials like exotic handle scales, high-end and experimental steels, and even custom Damascus patterns. Knife sharpeners, tool manufacturers, and designers also had booths, making it a one-stop shop for anyone interested in making or modifying their own knives. Inspiration was everywhere. Whether it was a new locking mechanism, a unique blade shape, or a beautifully crafted handle material you’d never seen before, it was easy to walk away with new ideas. This show isn’t just for buyers—it’s also for builders. Many people come to Blade Show Texas to learn, be inspired, and take their own knife-making projects to the next level. The best part? This isn’t the only show. Blade Show Texas is just one of four events that happen each year. There’s also Blade Show Atlanta, the largest knife show in the world. Then there’s Blade Show West in Salt Lake City, and Blade Show Tactical + Outdoor, which takes place in Clinton, South Carolina. So, whether you’re in the South, West, or East, you have a chance to attend one of these incredible gatherings. In the end, what makes Blade Show Texas so unique is how it combines community, innovation, and accessibility. It gives collectors, makers, and newcomers the chance to learn, connect, and grow together. For anyone interested in knives—whether you’re just starting out or have been collecting for years—it’s an experience you won’t want to miss. Words & Photos By Corey Decker
